| Product History/ Misc. Info | Gouda Goat Medium Aged is made the traditional old fashioned way, using wooden forms to shape the cheese. In a temperature and moisture controlled room the cheese is being aged on wooden shelves. Every week the cheeses are hand turned so the right amount of moisture can slowly evaporate to create the ideal flavor and texture of the cheese. After a year the cheese has its characteristic taste, not at all what you would expect from a goats milk cheese because the taste is very mild. Our Gouda Goat Medium Aged won the Gold Medal at the World Cheese Contest in 1992 and in Wisconsin in March of 1998!!! It's the best goat cheese in the world!!! |
