Blauwe en Witte Muisjes

These sweets taste like anis and are called ‘blue and white little mice’ in Dutch. In the Netherlands there is a tradition that if a woman has a baby boy the visitors are treated to ‘beschuit met blauw en witte muisjes’, which are crisp bakes topped with these blue and white anis balls. Of course that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy these sweets any time of the year! The box weighs 280 grams (9.8 oz). Some of the ingredients are ground anis seeds, sugar, glucose syrup, glazing agent and coloring.
